Glanmire GAA Golf Classic | Glanmire GAA joint Ladies & Mens Golf Classic will take place in Fermoy Golf Club on Friday 20th May. Many thanks to Keith O'Hourihane and Pharmacy First Plus who have again kindly agreed to be our anchor sponsor for the Classic. We are asking members to get out there and find individual companies and people to enter teams, sponsor tees and greens. Team entry is €200, Green sponsorship is €50 and Tee sponsorhip is €50. Membership 2021 | Membership for 2021 is now fully set up on the new GAA system. For those of you who previously used the Return to Play link to complete the Health Questionnaire, this can be used now to pay your membership fees for 2021. Membership fees for 2021 are only being accepted through this process.
Alternatively, please go to www.returntoplay.gaa.ie and follow the instructions to set up an account and select Glanmire GAA and you will then have the facility to select the appropriate Club membership for yourself and your family.

Safe Return to Gaelic Games | Adult players, parents/guardians of underage players and team personnel are required to complete the online Health Questionnaire once prior to their return to to GAA activities. Using the same system, Adult players, parents/guardians of underage players and team personnel will be required to declare, before each training session/game, that their health status has not changed. The online system is live and can be accessed by visiting the URL https://returntoplay.gaa.ie Personal infromation contained on the Health Questionnaire is stored for a maximum period of three weeks. CoVID Supervisors have been appointed within the Club. The role of the CoVID Supervisor is to verify that individual members of teams/panels have submitted forms and are permitted to participate. They do not have access to view the specific information provided via the Health Questionnaire, they will simply be able to see that the questionnaire has been submitted.

Supervalu Glanmire GAA Deliveries | As part of Community Support during the Covid-19 crisis Glanmire GAA are assisting Ryan's Supervalu with deliveries to vulnerable and older people in the Glanmire area who may need assistance. Commencing Monday 20th April, Glanmire GAA members will assist with deliveries on Mondays between 6pm and 8pm and Fridays between 5pm and 8pm. If you are aware of members of our community who require delivery assistance, please arrange for them to place orders to Supervalu by phone 021-4822500 or 021-4858415 or by email at elaine.carroll@svtogher.com. Orders need to be with Supervalu the night before delivery.

Glanmire Community Response Team | A Glanmire Community Response Team has been set up today to link with existing services, identify problems, identify where supports are required, and to solve problems locally where possible. The Local Team includes David O'Brien (City Hall Lead), Elaine McCoy (HSE lead), Kevin Tobin (GACA), Ger Moloney (Mums of Glanmire), Noel Fitzgerald (Community Garda), Cynthia Kelleher, Ann Holland, Eamonn Creech, Peter Falvey, Aidan J Linehan and Lorraine O'Neill. GAA Covid-19 Community Volunteers | Glanmire Football Club are liaising with Ryan's Supervalu Glanmire and Grandon's Centra Sallybrook as part of the GAA Covid -19 Community Volunteer initiative. Volunteers will be required to assist in the distribution of essential foodstuffs to the most vulnerable and most impacted people within the Glanmire area that may be in need of assistance. "Club Together" Volunteers | The Government will be launching a Local Authority led initiative tomorrow Thursday 2nd April which will support the elderly and most vulnerable to Covid-19. In order to ensure a seamless service and avoid confusion for those most in need the "Club Together" initiative is being closed down. Glanmire GAA encourages all our volunteers to make themselves known to the Local Authority service when it is launched. "Club Together" Initiative | Glanmire GAA are supporting the GAA/Musgrave Club Together initiative. The aim of the initiative is to ensure that society members who are most vulnerable to effects of Covid-19 will still be able to shop and receive deliveries from Supervalu and Centra stores. Club volunteers are required to support this initiative by taking and delivering customer's orders in accordance with the process agreed between the GAA and Musgrave. Suspension of Club Activities | In light of the Government announcement on Covid-19, all Club activities including games, training and team gatherings at all ages and grades is currently suspended from today March 12th until March 29th inclusive. Advice around Coronavirus for Games and Training | Rebel Óg has issued the following advice regarding the use of water bottles at games and training. " In the current climate, we are asking Clubs to follow some simple steps in and around Club activities, games and training. Players should have their own water bottles rather than sharing. No handshakes after games. Players use their own towels, soap, hand cleaner etc. when washing and drying after games etc." At the Club Executive meeting last night it was decided to accept this advice and apply it to all teams within the Club. We ask for your cooperation with these precautions for the foreseeable future, thanks.

Insuring safety for all GAA players on the playing field is very important⛑️ | Local St. John Ambulance Glanmire are providing a First Aid Responder Course - Starting Thursday 27th of February from 18:30 to 21:30 for 6 weeks. The cost of the course, which is recognised nationally by PHECC, is €170. The course meets all requirements set out by the HSA.
