It is with the heaviest of hearts that we express our deepest condolences to the entire Ryan family on the loss of their beloved Ray.
Words can’t express the profound sense of sadness and loss that will be felt around the whole parish of Glanmire and beyond by his untimely passing.
Ray was a tremendous ambassador for the GAA in Glanmire. He was the ever-present custodian of the number 6 jersey for both the Sarsfields senior hurling team and the Glanmire Intermediate football team for almost two decades where his passion, enthusiasm and drive to succeed was infectious and an inspiration to all his teammates and friends.
As well as the four Senior County medals he won with Sarsfields and his appearances with the Cork Senior hurling team at the highest level, Ray was an outstanding footballer who was an integral part of our memorable journeys to the Intermediate County finals of 2005 & 2006 and finished his football career by helping Glanmire to win the East Cork Junior Football Championship in 2013.
More recently he was part of our Minor football management team in 2022.
To Aishling, McKenna, Rory, Elliot, Paddy, Marian, Pat, Trevor, Ken and the extended Ryan and Foley families our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this extremely difficult time.
